Transition, part 5: Reflection
The Basics
- Write a reflection, then submit reflection plus revised résumés and cover letters on Blackboard.
The Details
- Description: Write a relatively informal reflection on the challenges and insights gained during this assignment.
- Length: minimum 600 words but don’t be afraid of going over. Use as many words as you need to provide a thoughtful reflection.
- ContentConsider these prompts:
- What did you find most valuable, and what surprised you about the job market or career options?
- Do you find yourself wishing some of this had been covered earlier in your coursework? If so, when?
- Alternately, was this easier than it could have been precisely because it was covered in one of your earlier courses already?
- What advice would you give a 1st- or 2nd-year student about preparing for the job market? Keep in mind that this student might think that the job market is something far in the future, and that they do not need to start thinking about it, yet.
